the tranquil countryside of central Marche. The surrounding landscape
of rolling hills, farmland and hilltop towns and villages is perfect
for those interested in mixing a quiet and relaxing holiday with
experiencing Italian rural life and scenery. Built in the early
1700s out of stone, Il Molino has original terracotta floors and
timber beams, and was a working mill until the 1960s, one of many
in the area. Although totally restored inside in 2000, some of the
original mill furnishings have been retained, attracting the interest
of local history groups. Il Molino is a listed architectural building. Il Molino lies next to a small stream, where
small trout and crayfish live. It has a field and small woodland
and overlooks the surrounding fields worked on by the local contadini
or farmers. Il Molino is perfectly placed for exploring the Marche
and neighbouring Umbria. Beautiful towns such as Macerata, Tolentino,
Urbino, Ascoli Piceno, Assisi, Gubbio, Spello, Spoleto and Perugia
are all within one to two hour's drive away. The magnificent Sybilline
Mountains are even closer, where there are unlimited opportunities
for hiking and sight-seeing. Only 4.5 kilometres away is the Roman hill-top
university town of Camerino where museums, piazzas, restaurants
and cafes can be found. There are local markets in Camerino on Saturday
mornings and Castelraimondo on Friday mornings. Basic provisions
are five minutes away by car at the local grocery store, where excellent
lunches and ice-creams are also available. Maximum six people, not suitable for small
children. Top floor - main entry, kitchen with washing
machine, large dining/sitting room with wood-burning stove, shower/wc,
