Finca La Asmoladora is a magnificent old
14 acre country estate in the middle of vines, almond, olive and
orange trees: a stunning property in a spectacular location enjoying
panoramic views of the mountains. Situated at the head of the pretty
Val de Pop (Pop valley) in the Province of Alicante - virtually
mid-way between the historic cities of Alicante and Valencia - the
finca is just a thirty minute drive from the internationally renowned
beach resorts of Javea, Denia and Moraira. La Amoladora is close
to the hustle and bustle of the coast but is a haven of peace, quiet
and beauty with some of the best weather, air and scenery in the
world. Family oriented in the summer months, the
finca is an idyllic, romantic place for couples the rest of the
year. Surrounded on three sides by spectacular mountains and at
the centre of the best rock climbing area in Spain, the finca is
superbly situated for all mountain based activities. Ideal for climbers,
walkers and cyclists in the autumn, winter and spring months. Also
an excellent base for searching for property in the Jalon valley
and the nearby coastal resorts. For golf enthusiasts there are fifteen
courses within about an hour's drive including El Saler, one of
the world's top 100 courses. La Asmoladora is close to the charming unspoiled
pueblo-village of Parcent - "Paradise between mountains",
Gabriel Miro. Among the many attractions waiting for you to explore
are the spectacular mountains, the valleys and the ancient pueblos
- many of which preserve their old festivals and customs - the local
wineries, the weekly produce markets, the antique shops and the
craft and flea markets. The historic cities of Alicante and Valencia
and their international airports are about an hour away. The finca
is an excellent base for combining sea, beach and sporting activities
with driving, riding (horse or mountain bikes), walking, biking,
climbing or just roaming the surrounding mountains. The valleys
between the mountains are lined with fruit and almond trees and
are an endless sea of pink and white almond and cherry blossom in
spring. The produce of the local wineries is well worth sampling
- the tiny winery in Parcent supplies the Spanish Royal Family.
The area is well known for its wide variety of restaurants. La Asmoladora is a magic place in a spectacular
setting at all times of day, but especially so from the enormous
pool and barbecue terrace, with a glass of wine and a few almonds
from the finca in hand, watching a spectacular sunset silhouette
the picture postcard pueblo of Parcent and the surrounding rugged
mountain ridges. Privately owned, La Asmoladora can accomodate
groups of 2 up to 16 people in nine bedrooms. The accomodation comprises
Casa Andrago, a superb five bedroom villa sleeping eight people.
and three delightful Casitas (small villas) each sleeping either
two or four people. Casa Andrago, which incorporates the tower of
La Asmoladora, and the Casitas are arranged round the finca's stone
paved courtyard and walled garden - which together are the centerpiece
of the finca. The accomodation is ideal for large or medium sized
families or groups wishing to holiday together. The accomodation
of La Asmoladora is, however, very flexible. It is, therefore, also
ideally suited for small families and for couples. The property is superbly equipped with a
tennis court, large swimming pool (6 x 12 meters), big barbeque
and bar area, massive tiled terraces and balconies for sunbathing
and acres of grounds and orchards to wander in. The accommodation
sits high over the river Alberca which runs through the property,
although it is dry most of the year. There are historic ruins close
to the banks of the river to explore. The main part of Casa Andrago and the Tower
part each sleeping four people, and the three Casitas each sleeping
either two or four, are available for rent seperately. For details
please enquire. Casa Andrago sleeps 8 people in five
bedrooms. The main part of the house has two twin bedded bedrooms.
The tower part has a double bedroom on the ground floor and single
bedrooms on the two floors above. There is a well equipped kitchen
with very large refrigerator/freezer, electric hobs and oven, dishwasher,
microwave, extractor, coffee maker and electric kettle. A serving
hatch connects the kitchen to the spacious dining/living room. The
dining/living room has spectacular views over the finca's terraces,
of almonds, olives and vines, to the picture postcard pueblo of
Parcent and the rugged mountains beyond. The house has televisions
in both the main part and the tower part. These receive the free
to air Sky channels. There is a high quality Hi Fi playing cassettes
and CDs. Access to the private Naya/shaded terrace of Casa Andrago
is from the dining/living room. The panoramic view of the end of
the Val de Pop from the Naya is breathtaking. The house has two
bathroom with bidets. The main part of the house is delightfully
and colourfully furnished. The tower part is furnished with rustic
but robust antiques. It is full of character with a distinct medieval
flavour as befits its heraldic crest and its suitably narrow stairs.
Casita 1 sleeps 2. It is set up studio
style with a large lounge and dining area, well fitted kitchenette,
shower room, twin beds, satellite television which receives the
free to air Sky channels, and a CD/radio player. The Casita is decorated
