vantage point from which to experience several different types of
holiday i.e. as the first or second leg of a two centre, as a base
from which to explore all corners of Florida or a holiday in the
Bahamas. Florida is the USA’s diving capital. Scuba
diving and snorkeling in springs and rivers is possible all year
round. Reef and beach diving is at its most pleasant and enjoyable
when the winds are light during the summer months and early autumn.
The enthusiastic diver will no doubt already know that local conditions
and nautical charts should always be observed before diving. While Florida is in possession of superb
beaches all round it is generally accepted that Gulf Coast beaches
are the most relaxing. There are four beaches in the Englewood area
and all are ideal for sunbathing, swimming, boating, fishing, diving
and much more besides. Lifeguards patrol the beaches all year round.
Baywatch eat your heart out! Mannesota beach occupies 14 acres of
gulf front with undulating sands, boardwalks, and sheltered areas
for picnics and barbecue pits. Venice Beach yields a variety of fossils
and shells for the casual or avid collector of these natural artifacts.
Whether strolling along or just relaxing and taking it easy, expect
to experience a whole host of wild life at the beach. The sight
of dolphins, pelicans, cormorants, egrets and ibis are among the
local inhabitants of these parts. Boca Grande beach situated on
the Island by the same name is known for its peaceful surroundings
and ‘Old Florida’ charm. The beach is famous for beautiful homes
and serene lifestyle. The area is famous for Tarpon fishing and
a tournament is held here. The island is dotted with casual and
elegant restaurants as well as exclusive shopping and fascinating
art galleries. With miles and miles of superb beaches and
an average temperature of 74 degrees Fahrenheit, with clean air
