Location Carrbridge, Scottish Highlands Contact & Enquiries Mrs S J Reid E-mail Telephone +44 (0)1436 672335 Accommodation Tormore is situated on the outskirts
of Carrbridge in a natural garden which leads onto adjacent moorland.
It is built entirely of solid pine and well insulated and therefore
is warm and very comfortable. It sleeps six in three bedrooms. All
soft furnishings are cotton. It is electrically heated. The kitchen
is well equipped with stainless steel pans and plenty of crockery
etc. It has been completely fitted out with oven, hob, dishwasher,
fridge freezer and washing machine incorporating a tumble dryer. As a family we suffer from various
allergies so we built and furnished our log house to be as allergen
free as possible. This has been done by using natural materials
such as wood and cotton. The kitchen worktop is stainless steel.
The house is maintained as dust free as possible to prevent the
aggravation of asthma and eczema. For this reason pets and smokers
are not welcome. In the village of Carrbridge
is the Landmark Centre (a highland heritage and adventure park),
a 9 hole golf course and pony trekking. There is a shop and post
office selling provisions. For entertainment during the evening
there are three hotels and a bistro. The Spey Valley is a major winter
sports area. It is an ideal base for touring the Highlands, for
outdoor activities or those wanting a quiet break. There are almost
too many activities to mention: 6 golf courses to choose from, fishing
on the river Spey and its tributaries, sailing, canoeing, pony trekking,
gliding, field sports and walking. Bird watchers and naturalists
will enjoy the many species to be found, including the renowned
osprey eyrie at Loch Garten to which the birds return in April. There are also superb beaches
at Nairn and Findhorn on the Moray Firth and of course the Aviemore
Centre has facilities for the whole family to enjoy, including skating,
go-karting and a cinema etc. Facilities include: Prices include electricity and
bed linen Distances Edinburgh 130 miles, Inverness
24 miles, Aviemore 7 miles. Pricing Information Minimum let: 3 nights High season from £430 Low season from £230 Weekends from £114 |
